Help for Breastfeeding Mums in Folkestone

by hayley on June 30 2010

Last week was Herbal Medicine Week which we combined with Breastfeeding Awareness Week. For us at Foreman & Jones, this was very important.

We know in the general public breastfeeding can be a contentious issue (mothers feeding in public for example) but we know that breastfeeding is so important for a baby’s start in life. We have heard many stories of mothers who have had to ‘give up’ on breastfeeding since mum and baby weren’t getting on with it very well.

Information for Mums

We believe that every mother should receive as much information and support as possible to breastfeed their baby should they choose to do so. In Folkestone this is totally the case thanks to a small group of dedicated women.

In Folkestone the Breastfeeding Awareness Week exhibition on the Old High Street was organised by Lyndsey Wall, Sarah Poole and their team of colleagues, mums and helpers. This team work out of The Village which is a Sure Start Children’s Centre, and they are formidable.

You will not meet a nicer group of women or a more experienced group of professionals. Jodie and I have been over-whelmed by the amount of support and advice they provide to pregnant mums, new mums and breast feeding women.

Breastfeeding Support Group

They have a breastfeeding support group on a Friday morning, and so much more. We will let you follow the link to their website to find out more.

We urge all pregnant mums to make the most of their services. At the exhibition we read countless accounts of women who had been helped with breastfeeding their baby by the team there.

Well Done!

We just want to say well done to everyone involved in supporting mums and babies in the Folkestone (Kent) area to get the best start in life.
