Local Hythe business support Macmillan Cancer Support through their first birthday.
Foreman and Jones Integrated Health Practice of Hythe celebrated their first year of business by holding a fundraising initiative in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Co-owners Jodie Foreman and Hayley Jones offered their customers’ appointments for a reduced price of just 10p, during January and February this year, and in return made a request from people who took up the offer to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Jodie and Hayley decided to hold the fundraising initiative following the success of their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event last September. World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s largest annual fundraising initiative. This national event sees thousands of people taking part to show support for the cancer support charity and has raised over £50 million since it began.
Speaking of their motivation to hold another fund raiser Jodie Foreman said, “we were so encouraged by the support and success of World’s Biggest Coffee Morning that we wanted to see if we could use the first anniversary of our business as an opportunity to raise more money.”
Jodie and Hayley managed to raise their fundraising efforts by another £143. Laura Kennedy, fundraising manager of Macmillan Cancer Support, said “this was a great initiative by Jodie and Hayley. The money they raised can be put to so many good uses. £25 pays for a Macmillan Cancer nurse for one hour; £18 can contribute to our support and information services for an hour. We are really grateful for their efforts and encourage more people who would like to lend their support to come forward.”
