About Us
At Foreman & Jones we have a real passion for what we do. Foreman & Jones is the brainchild of Jodie Foreman and Hayley Jones. Jodie and Hayley have each been in practice for 8 years as Herbalists and completed 4 years of degree training before this in order to have the honour of being called Medical Herbalists. That’s almost 25 years between us!!
Practically everybody sells herbs these days – your supermarkets, the pharmacy, and endless mail order companies. For many of these companies, their drive may be more about sales than about helping people to feel better. At Foreman & Jones our aim is to absolutely help each person we come into contact with. What’s more, the herbs we use are actually of medicinal grade. Many people do not know that the Chamomile tea bags you buy with your weekly shop are nothing like ‘true herbal teas’. Many people also do not realise that teas are not the be-all and end-all of herbal medicine (as much as we love them here!) There are also tinctures (liquid extracts), creams, lotions, juices, tablets and capsules.
Many minor health complaints can be treated safely at home, and other more complex or serious health complaints need to be attended to by a qualified herbalist. When you take a herbal remedy, it can be hard to know where to start – there are so many to choose from!
- Which herb should I take?
- Should I take more than one at a time?
- How much should I take and how often?
- How long should I continue it for?
- How long should it take before I notice an improvement?
- What do I do if it doesn’t do what I want it to do?
Since we are qualified Medical Herbalists we know the answers to these questions, and have formulated some simple but effective over-the-counter remedies. If you find the remedy you have chosen is not having the desired effect it will always be for one of the following reasons and can be addressed with qualified help.
If Herbal Medicines do not have the desired effect it is only ever for the following reasons:
- The correct herb/s is/are not chosen
- The herbs taken are not of a good quality
- The herbs are not taken at the correct dose
- The herbs are not taken for the correct period of time (duration)
- The working diagnosis (the ‘thing’ you are treating i.e. Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is not correct
