People who are likely to develop phobias are also likely to be good at Hypnosis, although scientists haven’t yet worked out why this is so.
There is no limit to the fears that people have:
- Heights
- Flying
- Enclosed spaces
- Open spaces
- Dogs
- Vomiting
and the list goes on.
Fears and phobias can have a huge effect on your life.
Many phobias have some truth to them and it is vital that you know that this truth is respected and understood. For example, with a fear of dogs – you should not be dreadfully afraid of dogs, but it shouldn’t be the case that you want to embrace all dogs. Some caution is necessary with some dogs and it is vital that you understand that your fear or phobia is taken to an appropriate level for you so that you can feel totally comfortable.
How do Hypnosis and NLP help with Fears and Phobias?
Most people will usually have some understanding about their phobia, although may not understand it completely. And some people will remember when it started and others won’t. Most people realise that phobias are often irrational – we can say to ourselves ‘don’t be silly, it’s only a spider/aeroplane/enclosed space’ but the message doesn’t get through to that part of us that determines our feelings and behaviours. So the logical part and the feeling part feel as if they are working separately. Using hypnosis and or NLP, depending on what seems most appropriate for the person, and often a combination of the two, you can work with the part of the person that set this behaviour up in the first place so that it has new choices about how to react. This then leads to a reaction much more like the one the person would like. So that the logical part and the feeling part are much more in tune.
Sometimes people feel afraid to let go of their fear or phobia and this is natural until you understand that you are totally in control of the process using Hypnotherapy and NLP and will therefore achieve that level of comfort that you desire.
