Food Intolerance Tests
There are 3 Food Intolerance Tests we offer here at Foreman & Jones: The First Step Food Intolerance Test (£10), The Food Scan 76 (£200) and The Food Scan 113 (£250).
The YorkTest Food Intolerance Programme will help you to identify whether you have a food intolerance and if so, what is causing your symptoms, from the ongoing bloating after eating to that irritating headache. The comprehensive FoodScan 113 and 76 tests will help you to identify the foods that are causing your food intolerance. Learning how to handle your new diet can be challenging so our practitioner Jodie Foreman, will help you make your dietary change as easy as possible.
What symptoms might I be experiencing if I had a food intolerance?
Sometimes we cannot identify exactly what is causing the irritating headache or ongoing bloating after eating. Food intolerance can contribute to a number of symptoms such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), bloating, tiredness, migraines, digestive complaints, skin conditions or joint pain.
How do I Choose the Correct Test for Me?
The YorkTest Food Intolerance Programme is very straightforward and will help you to achieve a better quality of life. There are three options to choose from:
Option 1:
You can take the First Step Food Intolerance Test, which will indicate whether you have a food intolerance by providing a ‘positive’ or ‘negative’ results. From this you can progress to either the Food Scan 76 or the Food Scan 113. Both of these tests indicate the specific foods you are intolerant to and as a result you will be able to eliminate these from your diet and be supported by Jodie in working to manage your elimination diet.
Option 2:
Alternatively, you can simply take the FoodScan 113 Test, to help you pinpoint exactly what is causing your symptoms. This test includes a comprehensive results pack, a 12 week food diary and a handy credit card sized results summary.
Option 3:
Instead, if you wanted a more basic test you can take the Food Scan 76. This tests for less foods that the Food Scan 113 and is a lower cost alternative. This test includes mixes instead of individual specifics; For example Berry Mix is identified in the 76 where as in the 113 you would be told if it was particularly blackberries, strawberries or raspberries. The mixes identified are: Berry Mix, Nut Mix, Spice Mix, Citrus Mix and Legume Mix. Other than these mixes, the food scan 76 tests for all the same foods the 113 scan tests.
What is included in the Food Scan 76 and 113 results?
* The results are presented in a colour coded format for each of the foods tested, indicating the strength of the reaction on a scale of 0-4.
* Both the 113 and 76 Scans provide you with a guidebook and food diary which include information on the foods and changing your diet.
*The food scan 113 results include a handy credit card reminder listing the foods you are intolerant to for when you are out and about.
*The price for the 76 and 113 scans both include an initial hour consultation where your blood sample is collected and your symptoms are discussed and an hour consultation in which your results are talked through and thorough dietary advice is given.
