The LiverCheck Test

Introducing you to Liver Health

The liver is the second largest organ in the body and it plays a crucial role, performing many complex functions that are essential for life.

Alcohol, obesity, diabetes, hepatitis and drugs can all cause liver damage. The LiverCheck Test helps you to understand the current state your liver is in. The results and consultation will help you to make changes and therefore help to avoid Liver Disease.

How does the LiverCheck Test work?

The test involves a pin prick blood test. A sample of blood is taken and sent off to our lab. The LiverCheck tests specifically for cell damage in your liver by testing for two enzymes; ALT and AST. These enzymes are usually largely present within the liver cells, however liver damage can cause an ALT and AST increase into the blood. The raised levels of these enzymes are detected from the blood sample and therefore indicate there is a level of liver damage.

What will the results tell me?

The results given to you will not only provide you with a positive or negative result, but will let you know the scale of the damage to your liver.

How much does the LiverCheck Test cost?

The test costs £99. Included in this price is an hour consultation in which your symptoms are discussed and the blood sample taken by a trained professional. The price also includes an hour consultation to discuss your results and to plan your future goals.
